Another mixed bag put forth by our Sneaker News Blogs: WDYWT regulars, and it just might be an Air Max-dominated week. In that category, we have the rare Size? x Lunar 180 ACG and the Stash x Air Max 95, but over the Nike Basketball s side, an SVSM PE of a LeBron and an OG Air Penny IV that has yet to be Retro ed showed up in this week s best. The Euro-exclusive 24 Kilates collab with Asics, complete with the box and wine, also showed up, as did a nice crop of Nike SB joints. Reproductions of Air Jordan originals have been under the watchful eye of Jordan fans, with the harshest criticisms being doled out for even the slightest discrepancy (refer to Air Jordan IV White/Cement ). So when Jordan Brand decided on bringing back the Chicago X for January of 2012, the team in charge of the Retro catalog had quite the interesting predicament regarding the shoes. It had nothing to do with Nike Air branding (the Air Jordan X never featured any such markings), but primarily around the number stitching on the upper; if you can recall, Michael wore two versions of the Air Jordan X Chicago one with a clean upper, and another with his newly selected 45 . So which would be the version to make the return? 45 seemed like a foregone story, so the better route seemed to be the number-less one, but based on this rare Look-see sample of the Air Jordan X Chicago , it seems as if Jordan Brand entertained the thought of going with 23 , a number Michael never wore while hooping in the Ch...

Just over three years ago, the greatest heavy metal band of all-time (especially in terms of album sales) collaborated with Converse on a duo of Chuck Taylor hightops. That 2009 two-pack featured album art from Ride the Lightning in celebration of its 25th anniversary along with another covered in an early Pushead drawing. We see an interesting bit of Lincoln and Kennedy here as a few years later, on the precipice of Kill Em All s 30th birthday and the second Pushead x Nike SB collaboration, the Metallica x Vans Classic pack brings us the closest thing Vans has to an All Star (the Sk8-Hi) along with a Slip-On, both featuring bloody hammers from the KEA album art. Check them out in greater detail after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for next summer s release info.

Wednesday, July 11th will be the slowest day of the sports year, as not a single top-tier professional game will played. Football s gearing up to dominate the fall, basketball just wrapped up its biggest championship with an Olympic gold to be decided in weeks, and Major League Baseball will finally take a breather after the Midsummer Classic. But today is kind of like the storm before the storm, because while Tuesday s All-Star Game in Kansas City decides home-field advantage in the World Series, there will be just as much attention on the recently renovated Kauffman Stadium during tonight s Home Run Derby. Nike Baseball is ready with their typically impeccable timing, bringing forth a pack of cleats along with one special edition pair done similarly to one of the Training division s best.

Nike s all-new Flyknit technology touches on its earliest running heritage of lightweight in a state-of-the-art Knit upper that appeals to the Woven cult crowd, extending the Flywire concept of 2008 and building the upper in one solid yet outstandingly breathable and lightweight upper. A mix of muted tones like tonal black and black/grey/white will be available, as will some juicier ones like the neon green/blue and bright orange. A nice viewing is just ahead, so take a look and stay tuned to Sneaker News for more Nike Flyknit release information and updates.

Kevin Durant s a baller. Yes, that sounds wildly obvious, but in a recent interview with ESPN, Durant was hungry for more basketball and couldn t wait to get the Olympic festivities started even after a strenous Playoff run and tough loss in the Finals. The reigning three-time Scoring Champion will likely play a major role in running Team USA s offense, especially with LeBron gravitating more toward the ball-handler role and Wade sitting out this year s Games to nurse an injury. When the KD IV chapter is all said and done, it will go down as one of the best signature sneakers in Nike Basketball history for its high popularity, outstanding colorways, welcoming price-point, and of course, the fact that Durant is a star unlike we ve ever seen before. The KD IV Scoring Title , which gives Durant his due props for earning his third straight NBA Scoring Title, will release on July 21st, so butter yourself up with this first detailed look and let us know if these are the best KD IV of the year.
